The Norrlands

Although a small amount of agriculture is possible in the flatter areas near the sea, the more mountainous regions of the Norrlands are sustained largely by various mining operations, with the more oceanic nations depending primarily on fishing. There is much seismic activity in this region, and a large volcano on the island nation of Yohe has been near-constantly spilling a steady stream of lava for the past several hundred years. The people of Yohe have more-or-less just found ways to work around it, although it makes ship travel in and out of Iskall Bay difficult.
Of course, the jagged rocky coasts and frequent storms that dominate the whole region don't make it easy to navigate the seas anywhere in the Norrlands, and I'd advise you not to make the attempt without a seasoned Norrlander seaman at the helm of your vessel.
