Ruins of Latoyna are a scar left by the madness of the Zakuulan Empress Vaylin - a spiteful remnant of the bygone era where the civil war raged on the planet between the heiress of the Drayen dynasty, Risha Drayen, and the reigning king Actavarus the Third. The feud that pitted citizens of Dubrillion against each other came to a violent and abrupt end when Empress Vaylin unleashed her armies of Skytrooper Droids and an indiscriminate orbital bombardment to render Latoyna into the crater-strewn ruin. At the current date, Latoyna and its surrounded regions are a pale shadow of what they've used to be - though there's still some populace left, it is mostly consistent of scavengers, gangers, outlaws, and simply those who are too poor or have nowhere else to go. All of these people inhabit a place scoured by the turbolaser fire and high-grade explosives - the ruins remain an extremely dangerous location, with unexploded ordnance, toxic spill, rogue combat droids, and makeshift traps scattered throughout the crumbled skyscrapers and other once magnificent monuments.
Still, there persists a constant, if a slow, stream of visitors - historians, thrill-seekers, and scavengers, all are interested in once-great wealth amassed by the Tyrant of Dubrillion, Actavarus the Third. Many are willing to risk injury or even death to discover the riches that the Tyrant has hoarded before his rule came to an end in the Risha Drayen's uprising and the Zakuulan invasion. A significant fraction of these visitors include criminals of all manners, and the ruins often become scenes of fleeting, vicious firefights between gangs of marauders that vie for spoils.
Recently, the fighting has shifted to focus around the Royal Palace, as the place was taken by a Chujah Gang, a Hutt-affiliated group of criminals, primarily consistent of Twi'lek guns-for-hire, that has quickly gained infamy for their ruthlessness and propensity to shoot first and never ask questions later. Most of the lone scavengers and smaller gangs tend to avoid crossing their paths with the Chujah Gang, whilst the bigger gangs plot to combine their efforts and dislodge the "lekku scum" before the Chujah manage to uncover anything valuable from the ruined Royal Palace.
