Velkash, The Manipulator

Written by StillnessandSilence

The Weaver of Illusion

Born in the Undersanctuary, Velkash was the product of a devil and an Abyssi Domani—a being forged from the very essence of darkness. His devil's tongue made him a prodigy in the art of deception, mastering the ways of temptation and lies with ease. When the Great Tear erupted in Selenia, creating chaos and fissures in reality, Velkash seized his chance for freedom. He slipped through the cracks and entered the world above for the first time.   Velkash would often shift into the guise of a strikingly handsome man with long, silvery hair, using his appearance to beguile and seduce. He lured mortals with promises of power, wealth, and forbidden desires, leading them to the brink of fulfillment before devouring them whole, without remorse. He delighted in spinning webs of lies, leaving nothing but devastation in his wake.   He was perhaps one of the most elusive beings for Lord Canterberry to apprehend, frequently shifting between his human and demon forms and always leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. His insatiable hunger drove him relentlessly, making him nearly unstoppable. It took many skilled hunters to finally capture this Maleficae.   The damage Velkash inflicted upon Stormer left an indelible mark on its people. His twisted lies and dark deeds wove themselves into the fabric of society, even influencing the way political dealings were conducted. Among those determined to bring him down was a renowned huntress named Dae Ashburne. For her, the pursuit of Velkash was deeply personal. He had exploited her trust, seduced her, and manipulated her into unknowingly aiding his schemes. She was relentless, vowing to return the favor.   Dae played a dangerous game, turning Velkash’s own tactics against him. Slowly, she pulled his strings, weaving a trap he could not escape. Velkash, who had never encountered a woman as ruthless and sinister as himself, found himself ensnared. When she finally captured him after a fateful night together, he did not resist. He knew they would cross paths again someday, and he savored the thought of exacting his revenge upon her.   Lord Canterberry locked Velkash in a cell beneath his castle, once more confining him to the Under Sanctuary. Velkash sat in his small cell, his whispers of knowledge and lies echoing to the realm above. Using lesser demons to spread his influence, he began manipulating a guild known as the Mighty Fist. Persuading them to set him free required little effort—a loosely written contract, bound by little more than an empty promise, was all it took.   Free with the promise that he wouldn’t touch the realm of Stormer, Velkash ventured to the Craglands. There, he unleashed the pent-up fury of the demons he had consumed, devastating two entire villages. His rampage culminated in an assault on one of the keeps, known as the Sun King’s stronghold. Thorin Dankil, the Sun King, met Velkash in battle—a clash that the demon ultimately lost. The Sun King, feared for his nearly all-consuming light, proved to be an adversary Velkash could not overcome.   Once again, Velkash was tethered, this time bound under a stricter and more tightly woven contract. Thorin Dankil locked him within the king’s own vaults, ensuring his imprisonment was secure and his influence curtailed.
