The Wreath of Dreams
The Wreath of Dreams
This item is said to be made of Starlight Blossom flowers, small flowers that blossom only once per year. The crown is kept in Thunderglade in Stormer Castle. It originally belonged to The Dragon Princess.
The Wreath of Dreams, an intricate crown of delicate blossoms, is more than a simple relic—it is a vessel for Princess Eclaire’s unfulfilled dreams, a poignant echo of her courage and sacrifice. Forged in the wake of her monumental battle with Necroth, it was said that the blossoms began to bloom as the princess gave up her mortal heart, replacing it with the crystal heart of twelve ancient dragons.
When Eclaire faced Necroth, her decision to relinquish her humanity resonated through the realms. Her sacrifice not only shattered the embodiment of despair but also forged a bridge between mortal hope and draconic might. The Council of Twelve Roses, in reverence for her selfless act, created the Wreath of Dreams to honor the fragments of her humanity she left behind—her longings, her joys, and the life she would never return to.
After the battle, as Eclaire was laid to rest in her eternal slumber beneath Thunderglade Castle, guarded by the Celestial Planatar, the Wreath of Dreams became a symbol of her legacy. It was placed in the Royal Vault, only to be worn during times of great need by those deemed worthy of carrying her dreams.
Legends tell of those who wore the wreath, glimpsing her visions—a family she never had, a quiet life she gave up, and the boundless courage that propelled her to save Selenia. While the wreath imbues its wearer with fleeting traces of her strength, it is not without cost; many describe an overwhelming sense of melancholy, as if feeling the weight of her sacrifice.
The Great Hall of Portraits in Castle Stormer holds the only known depiction of Princess Eclaire wearing the Wreath of Dreams. Curiously, the painting shows her radiating happiness, a serene smile upon her face, despite the heavy price she paid. Whether she understood the depth of her sacrifice when the portrait was created remains an enduring mystery, adding another layer to the legend.
Today, the Wreath of Dreams stands as a bittersweet symbol of Eclaire’s duality: a mortal tethered to humanity’s frailty and a draconic guardian who became a beacon of hope. It reminds all who see it that the greatest acts of heroism often come at the greatest cost, yet they leave behind a legacy that inspires generations to dream, to fight, and to believe in the light.
