Captain Evangeline Bugbee
An ex-Vampirate, Evangeline spends her days studying and protecting Galactic Finbacks with her crew of other ex-Vampirates and a few vampire spawn. Evangeline stumbled upon them on accident after following a herd of Kindori that were acting rather strange. They led her to a lone Galactic Finback who was being attacked by some poachers. Evangeline and her vampire crew easily destroyed the poachers and she decided to study and protect these behemoths till the end of her days. She has since developed a symbiotic relationship with them, harvesting a few pints of blood a day in exchange for protection and feeding the Galactic Finbacks her unused spell slots before each long reset.

Personal history
Evangeline began life as the daughter for a struggling merchant who sold her to a king to solidify trade routes and tax exemptions for himself and his company. As one can imagine, Evangeline did not enjoy the life of a consort and began plotting to destroy the corrupt king and his family. Thanks to a lack of security and oversight, Evangeline was able to use royal resources to collect the necessary instructions and materials for a Vampiric Ritual. Once she became an undying creature of the night, she slaughtered the royal lineage, stole their riches and attempted to return to her father. Appalled at what she had become, her father disowned Evangeline and in a fit of rage, she killed him.
She would run his business for a few years, maintaining a low profile, creating a few spawn, and feasting on some of her competition until her vampirism was revealed and a bounty was place on her. She used all the funds she had amassed and the thralls she commanded to stowaway aboard a Space Galleon that had docked in port to sell some goods and resupply. She was not found until the ship was attacked and boarded by Vampirates, who invited her to join the crew. She did fine as a Vampirate but did not really enjoy piracy. After a century, she took her earnings and bought her own ship and crew to sail the Astral Seas as a merchant. A century later, Evangeline would develop a love for Kindori and would begin following the herds across Wildspace.
