Writs of the Krasian Meritocracy

Writ of Entry

  • Rarity: Common
  • Bound to: Ship (Navigation System)
The Krasian Meritocracy enforces the concept of Writs of Entry on Ship level. Standard procedure dictates that a ship entering from a separate Core territory or Rim world submit to a customs inspection, document inspection for any crew and passengers, and possibly a ship's navigational log inspection. It is expected that a ship captain stop in a Border system and find a local Krasian Patrol or station to check in and obtain their Writ. The benefit of Writs of Entry being tied to a ship's navigation system is that it can be set to expire and self-destruct the moment a ship leaves Krasian Territory via subspace or Z-space, ensuring that the ship is subjected to another customs check upon reentry. A ship arriving in an inner core system without a Writ of Entry may be denied passage to the system, the world, or even attacked on sight should it be suspected of harboring dangerous individuals or goods.

Writ of Trade

  • Rarity: Common
  • Bound to: Ship
Writs of Trade are issued by the Krasian Meritocracy on a Point to Point basis. Trade companies typically maintain constant open lines with the Meritocracy to expedite the process and handle taxes without putting that on their pilots. Goods amount location ship locationoccasionallyamount paid

Writ of Armaments

  • Rarity: Inherent (Citizenship & Entry)
  • Bound to: Individual
The Krasian Meritocracy does not officially require Writs of Armaments for any non-energy and non-explosive weaponry. This has been known to change in government buildings and on certain protected Core Worlds where entry negates the automatic Writ of Armament for an automatic Writ of Protection instead.

Writ of Citizenship

  • Rarity: Uncommon
  • Bound to: Individual (DNA Locked)
Though being born in Krasian Territory technically makes you a Krasian by birth, only the Writ of Citizenship guarantees you access to the other standard Writs for Individuals (Entry, Armaments, Privacy). Citizenship is only handed out to those who have proved themselves in some way to have protected or progressed Krasian ideals. This has also had the effect of causing most Krasians to seek a future in the Military, Peacekeeping forces, Scientific Research, or explored into the Depths in an attempt to prove themselves to the Board of Citizenship. Serving is never enough, but provable or verifiable glory is the key to the DNA locked Writ.

Writ of Protection

  • Rarity: Rare / Inherent (Citizenship)
  • Bound to: Individual (DNA Locked)
Writs of Protection are typically bio-locked to an individual and declare that the person has the protection of Krasian Peacekeeping Forces or the Krasian Military should they come into danger. It is typically possessed by the highest levels of government, the wealthy, and the Citizens who have proved themselves in the eyes of the Board of Citizenship. It is commonly known that assaulting someone with this writ can be a fatal mistake.
