Writs of the Allied Terran Systems

Writ of Entry

  • Rarity: Common
  • Bound to: Ship (Navigation System)
The Allied Terran Systems founded the Writ system. Their first foray was using the Writ of Entry, which evolved into the same system that it and the Krasian Meritocracy currently use. The Allied Terran Systems are far less strict with their enforcement of the Writs, however. Though it is expected that a ship stop at a Border system, find a local Patrol or station to obtain their Writ, and then progress to a planet, that does not always happen. It is just as common these days to obtain the Writ after arriving at the destination planet or purchase it from a patrol ship if stopped in an interior system. Though it is uncommon to be attacked due to the lack of a Writ, the absence of it will incur fines and restrict trade. The writ is tied to the ship's navigation system and is set to self-destruct upon exit from the system or after X amount of days, which is typically 30 Galactic Standard days unless it is a citizen's ship. This keeps the income from Writ obtaining flowing.

Writ of Trade

  • Rarity: Common
  • Bound to: Ship
Writs of trade are obtained by Ships for a set period of time. The Trade Writ itself is tied to the ship and self-destructs after a set amount of time (typically 30GS days) or a preset number of Transfer Writs.

Transfer Writ

  • Rarity: Common
  • Bound to: Items in Transit
Individual products are taxed upon retrieval/delivery and have their own Transfer Writs. These specific the items, weight, amount, starting location, destination, and book value of the products. These Transfer Writs are tied into a Writ of Trade and no trader can carry or obtain a Transfer Writ without an active Writ of Trade.

Writ of Armaments

  • Rarity: Planet/System Dependent
  • Bound to: Individual
The ATS does not have a specific Writ of Armament, rather they are determined by the individual planet or system's rulers. The rarity depends on the local laws and customs.

Writ of Citizenship

  • Rarity: Common
  • Bound to: Individual (Document/ID)
Any individual born in the ATS can easily obtain the citizenship writ upon their coming of age. The laws for immigration into the ATS are easier than any of the other Core governments and the ATS is a refuge for many an exile or refugee from other Core worlds or even the Rim. Only the cost of living or a specific planet's laws typically provide the barrier to joining the ATS.

Writ of Protection

  • Rarity: Uncommon
  • Bound to: Individual (Document/ID)
Broad Writs of Protection are typically restricted to government workers, Peacekeepers, or those in active service. While anyone is technically able to call upon the Terran Peacekeeping Forces for aid, the immediacy of response is often tied to how many donations you've made to their offices recently without the Writ of Protection. Only the Writ of Protection guarantees refuge from the Military branch itself.
