Movement/Travel Time
Movements and travel time is a heck of a thing. So let me simplify it. Based on your characters movement at a base of 10 speed you move 100ft a minute which is 1 mile an hour and 24 miles a day if you traveled 24 hours. Heres the deal. Most people will travel nearly all day except for eating and sleeping. Sleeping or a longest takes 8 hours. The in between time which would be breakfast and lunch that in total would take 30 minutes each so an hour. Now you could eat on the go but that still effects your exhaustion since you are still moving. Now this means you can travel 15 hours everyday consistently till issues arise. So here is a graph of the varying speeds of players and how fast they can end up traveling.
speed 10-15 miles a day-25 kilometers
Speed 20-30 miles a day-50 kilometers
Speed 30-45 miles a day-75 kilometers
Speed 40-60 miles a day-100 kilometers
Speed 50-75 miles a day-120 kilometers
Speed 60-100 miles a day-160
Now lets talk speed of vehicles. which includes living and nonliving.
Carriage or carts. Now if you look at weight and the amount of horses this varies. Now for a two-horse-drawn carriage, this is 10 mph (16kph) at a good speed. So let's break it down every horse a vehicle drawn by horse is 5 mph (8kph). This means that if you do the math the horse which could go 25mph is now going 5 mph do the conversion and you find that the horse is going 20% of its original speed. So if a creature or something of a sort is pulling weight you can figure that it is going 20% of its standard speed. Then you take that number which is 5 in this case and for every horse, you add another 5mph increasing the speed. Now this is assuming your vehicle can handle this. So I will say this.
Vehicle max pull. First, let's take care of the size of the weight being pulled. So 20% of their usual speed for a medium-sized vehicle. now if the vehicle is smaller make it double that creature's speed. and its larger makes it half the speed of the 20%. Now that's small, medium, and large. For each increase in size cut the number in half. For every size smaller cut the number down in half. A vehicle can only have up to 4 creatures pull it unless the vehicle is specialized to have more. This is because most vehicles would fall apart and get destroyed if they went too fast.
Max speeds. Every creature can only go so fast for so long. If you move any faster than 60 movement speed you are subject to an exhaustion check every 2 hours. failing the check gives an exhaustion point. This is due to stamina drain. people usually need rest. A cheetah for example can only run as fast as it can for a short period of time. The base check for exhaustion is a Constitution saving throw of 10 and for every check thrown after that without a long rest will add 1 to the DC.
Now for the speeds of creatures Biotic and Abiotic. Any creature you find in the biotic or Abiotic section will now have a speed. only the most popular are found here.
