How eyes of power work
We’re gonna tell how exactly these eyes of power work and first is how you use the abilities of said eyes. Some weapons have charges but since these are eyes you have a different term. We call this term Seeing points. Same as charges but work a little differently. You have as many as you do wisdom(passive perception). If you have an 11 in passive perception then you have 11 seeing points or charges. These replenish every day at dawn. This doesn’t decrease your passive perception but it does reduce how many seeing points you have for that day when using an ability. Remember they replenish at dawn to full every time and if you increase your passive wisdom then you have increased how many seeing points you have.
How would you even get a pair or single eye of power? Let alone “installing it”. Finding one can be done through quests or killing a person or tearing out their eyes. You must be careful when extracting as a bad medicine check will result in damaging or possibly rendering the eyes useless. If you now have your eyes let's get into the transplant. It's recommended to have a second person help with the transplant as doing it yourself drastically lowers the success rate. If the second person has proficiency with a transplant kit and medicine then the success rate is much higher. This is a medicine check FYI. Here are the numbers; a 15 or lower is a failure and the eye(s) receive a debuff. If you roll a 10 or lower then the eye(s) will be destroyed. If a 16-24 is a success and you now can use the eyes power. If you get a 25+ you get a special effect from the extra eye power category.
Now we may be going backward in time but how did these eyes come to be in the first place? Who were the first wielders and such? First, these eyes are created and gifted by Rinnego. He is the first user of the eyes of power. The eyes of power he was born with were gifted by the god of gods. He was also given the power to create more eyes. With this, he created many pairs of eyes in his spare time tho most were failures. Rinnego eventually forsook his power and returned it back to the god of gods, except he couldn’t do it. What was given could no longer be taken. Eventually, he did find a way, which he figured out by looking through his own eyes. Eventually, he gave his powers to Aharia in the year 261. This was originally impossible but she made it possible. Now she has given the power to another person who is a deity and that deity goes by the name of, Amani the deity of eyesight.
Amani now gifts eyesight or eyes of power to those who have earned the right to have such power. This “right” is neither right nor wrong it simply whether or not a creature meets the requirements to have such eyes. A bear who is a brilliant hunter could have eyes of power called hunter's sight. Unlikely but possible. This is the rough idea of how eyes of power are created.
