History
Back at the start of the 2342 Galactic Calendar The Zarrek Institute started out from humble beginnings starting research into medical practices curing ills and medicating the critically sick. It was founded by one Nurl Zarrek and Human from the neutral parts of space not alligned to any of the major factions or minor.
At first Nurl was seen as a great healer and business man of valour millions flocked to his clinic on the starting world REDACTED In hope of being healed of their sickness that others saw as "Terminal." but Nurl Zarrek strived to do all he could over years finding cures to sickness that other firms couldn't find a cure to. At the time of the inner core conflict he and his staff started to service both factions' wounded being raised more and more in the public's eye that he was a man of stature and promise in such a dark galaxy.
This fame came with a great cost. More people travelled to his small clinic each week making his work harder to do with the limited staff so he opened many more clinics on other worlds one per faction territory and on some he built factories that worked on his cures and medicine. Over night he became the most sort after medical advisor on cases of higher importance, even working on Drek'thul when he was brought back from a sirasion internment camp at the request of Drek'thar.
As his age started to show in his early forties he started to teach more staff to take the load off of his shoulders and allow for him to work in the background in the lab and in the role of CO of the Zarrek Institute.
It was 2344 when the next thing of note occurred for Nurl Zarrek as the corruption sent asteroids into the world. working on people and soldiers that had been effected by the corruption essence near demonic hordes. He was so lost in the study and research that he didn't notice that he himself was being corrupted by proximity. Starting to hear voices and see things he resigned himself to his lab not seeing patients and not teaching new staff but his Clinics and warehouses where so well planned and staffed he wasn't missed people thinking it was him doing important work against corruption sickness. What was happening in reality was much worse.
Nurl Zarrek was being corrupted from the essence he was curing from patients being twisted in mind and body and was never seen in person again but his memo's and his orders kept coming. new staff more patients.. and more studies into corruption.
Over time the whole organisation was infested and by the date 2346 many of the staff was corrupted or worse. In present times the organization has been outed for their schemes and dealings with demonic forces of corruption. being hunted across the galaxy to answer for their crimes.
Each person we save, is another achievement for medical science
