Yakunite

Yakunite is a specialized metal created originally by the Yaku collective, carrying the factions name, it is described as the "ultimate metal" by them that has shaped their culture, society and warfare for eons, so old and so rooted in them that they couldn't replace it even if they found something better.
The Rada Collective that rouse after them did change many things after, but they did not disgard Yakunite either, they couldn't, this proves how beneficial this material is to anyone capable of getting some in their hands, its applications wide and its strength impeccable.
However it is costly and hard to make, making its full capabilities rare to see indeed, as most soldiers wear only small pieces of it, rather than having their entire armor made solely of it. Still, even small amounts of it in other materials still boost its effectiveness.

This metal is deep red in origin yet having the other characteristics of metal and steel, a flashing deep red color.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Yakunite is excessively durable and when sharpened, excessively sharp, making it both a very durable armor, capable of even stopping blaster fire, and capable of cutting both itself and most armor and material designed in its own class and of course anything lower than it. It is also always in a warm state, not requiring many heating mechanism for a changed environment, if anything one requires to tune its heat.
The metal is also very easy to fold and bend, making it almost elastic in nature despite its other properties, making it an all use item, and excessively flexible to suit ones purpose, able to harden and soften depending on the intent one forms it.

History & Usage

History

Unlike in most planets or galaxies, the accident that is Yakunite happened on Yakuta very early on, making this incredibly powerful tool become useful for the Yaku in their infancy, a thing they would learn to appreciate much later when they realized just how good it was. The metal was discovered by some inspiring Yaku lifeforms in their ever escalating wars on their homeworld, and has been thorough the ages been used for warfare due to its rarity, although it has been used in luxury and other purposes before. It has never ran out of usefulness and continues to benefit the Rada to the present.

Discovery

It was discovered when the Yaku had learned the art of smithing and entered their own equilevant to the human earths medieval phase, it was discovered by a family of panther yaku who were smiths, their names have been lost to Yaku history.
It was first used by Bashi in the battle of the Lions fighting the bats, as Bashi's first set of claws.

Everyday use

The metal is almost excessively used for making weapons and armour, however it also makes good use for construction and support structure making, among other useful purposes for metal work.

Cultural Significance and Usage

Receiving Yakunite in Yaku culture has been always a sign of great honor and upheld tradition of it passing down to co-workers or family members was always held with great reverence.
The Rada have disappointedly not adopted these ways and treat it casually but still hold its secrets close.

Industrial Use

Sometimes Yakunite is used for support structures and building creation, however these are usually military installations and thus calling industrial use is a bit trite.

Refinement

Yakunite obviously needs to be smelted into shape and be metal worked into shape and refined further by folding the material or sharpened, depending on the need, its applications and refinement procedures are many.

Reusability & Recycling

Even if Yakunite breaks or somehow melts or otherwise is damaged, as long as a intact piece remains, they can be re-used later as the material is excessively hard to be shattered and thus is very reusable even when broken.

Trade & Market

Yakunite is almost solely sold by the Yaku and the Rada to their own factions respectively, however due to the many wars waged with it, many items have been taken off battlefields and sold on, in the black market or over the Holonet, some even repurposed it afterwards. Usually seld by underground dealers or especially heated enemies of the two. Usually commercialed as an exotic luxury item.

Law & Regulation

By law, in both Yaku and Rada society, only their race and those loyal to the governmental bodies are allowed even near the things, so anyone possessing a Yaku katana that is not of the two, is definitely committing a crime to the two. And of course, either of them possessing the Yakunite is also considered illegal to them.
