The Last Roar
The Last Roar refers to the Rada death ritual, which is when a dying rada uses the last split second of their consciousness to spread all of their memories, traits and experiences to any accepting Rada in their surroundings. This makes sure that even if the Rada doesn't procreate, the sum of their parts will go on or be disgarded by the next generation, but in memory, no one truly dies.
History
This tradition began shortly after the Rada were formed, it was at first viewed to be a short of adaptation instinct, that formed naturally that each Rada would wish its information to spread to the whole since unlike most Hiveminds, the Rada do not automatically view each others visions or memories but must do so manually. However over the years, Rada have formed this tradition into a celebration of life, the Last Roar festival is held at least once during a year, usually around October to commemorate those who have died in the line of duty, or otherwise, to bring up the memories of the dead and promise to honor them in the future.
Execution
The moment of the Last Roar itself happens a split second before death, as the Rada's mind races much faster than reality, they can 'open their minds' and let it all flow into the Hivemind before the brain dies, thus sharing everything they are before perishing.
The Festivals are held on Rada controlled planets, usually as a government raised celebration that families either commit to communually or privately, the choice is up to the individual. During the celebrations, the viewing of the memories of the dead is done, with drink and food and mostly just memorizing people with others, or teaching others of the past lives of some memorable Rada. No dead is allowed to be insulted during this festival, and it is shunned upon to do so.
Participants
All Rada are encouraged to join in the celebration, much like every Rada will either conciously or subconciously do this before death.
