Rada Culture

The Rada Collective live in a Society and in so doing this made it inevitable that they would form a culture around said Society. This document will therefore explain said culture in as many aspects as can be thought of. The Rada have spread far in the galaxy and in cultural and economical ways the Collective is very important for the whole galaxy, and so their works and influences can be seen anywhere you go.
BEHAVIOR/CULTURAL NORMS!: The Rada society promotes the use of logical thinking and privatization of private life. This means that Rada are taught to think using logic more than emotion when they make decisions or when they act out, meaning and most Rada consider things and how it might turn out although showing emotion and acting on it are by no means forbidden, however since this form of teaching begins from childhood, most Rada are commonly more calm and collected than some races who allow parents and schools choose the form of education, while the Rada always teach uniformly.
The Rada usually communicate through their Hivemind mental telepathy to each other, however when other races come to the conversation, most Rada tend to switch to common, even if they are talking to each other as such allows the other person to join in, this too is encouraged on a cultural level to make their race seem friendlier on the galactic scale.
In Rada society the strong rule and the weaker ones aspire to become the strong, this natural and literal domination of others is thought of as normal and people usually wish to get better due to it rather than lament their own weakness, it is also one of the reasons why the decisions of the strong are looked at with less scrutiny and if some do disagree with them, they usually try to let their voices be heard so a change might be ejected. In the case there is no change, usually the strong would present a reason for as to why the many voices were not heard.
So in Rada Society, most of the said society talks out their issues with everyone involved and no one is left too much in the dark aside from things that need to be concealed to limit the spread of information, which is usually understood as to why that should be, as the nature of the why's is usually disclosed.

EDUCATION!: The Rada society has a curriculum of fifteen years for newborn Rada that they must attend right after their birth, where they are shared traits and memories from the massive pool of information that is the Hivemind, and are taught things like practicality and morality and of course, to know the bridge between their own lives and that of the memories they have received, how to form their own identities amidst the many identities they take in daily.
This education process that is informally called 'The learning' takes place in educational centers and usually lasts six hours per regular galactic day. The educated are taught by Overseers who watch over them and teach them, and even berate them, should they do something that is against their social conduct, such as unwanted violence against fellow Rada.
Many Rada youth gain friendships, lovers and future co-workers from these centers and even go to form squads in the civilian and military branches, using their familiarity as an advantage to what working with strangers would be like, although fraternizing beyond these learning squads is encouraged.
In effect there are many things similar to human educational schools to Rada's education centers except that Rada do not test their youth on things like math or biology as the answers if they are considered practical, are directly downloaded into the Rada's brain, according to providing intelligence and knowledge to everyone. Rada school is mostly done at all to make them viable members of society, able to comprehend their own existence and abilities and how to work with races outside their own.
ENTERTAINMENT!: The Rada Society does not establish or support an entertainment industry, at all. In that saying the Rada do not as a faction provide the creation of music, video games, movies or anything like that. However the Rada government encourages Rada to do this entertainment themselves and provides opportunities for aspiring Rada to make music, tv shows, form bands, and stage gladiatorial cage matches.
In effect entertainment certainly exists, however it is not an industry as it is elsewhere in the galaxy, it is mostly the projects of individuals who got up to it and are paying for the expenses themselves, the same but different. In that effect, privatized companies have almost nothing to do with Rada governments and vise versa.
The government however does host some music for warfare and provides informercials like the News and other similar functions such as upkeeping infrastructure but it does not involve itself with entertainment unless someone would try to make harmful 'entertainment' to the public.
FRIENDSHIP/COURTSHIP!: Rada form friendships with co-workers and peers and even total strangers and of course do so logically, those who are harmful to you or try to use you are not good people and should not be associated with, however just a dude who wants to have fun with you is probably a decent bloke to know. Love is similar, if two Rada like each other, very little is standing in their way. Usually Rada need only ask each other if they'd want to be in a physical or spiritual relationship and a simple no or yes will often dictate what happens next, the Rada do not play extensive games to attain relationships like humans do as such isn't logical.
CRIME/RULE BREAKING!: The Rada live in a Society where the police can access your thoughts and whilst to humans this seems like a huge breach of privacy, to the Rada it seems fair that the guardians of their society can see people's crimes before they commit them, of course it helps that the Rada's police force are not corrupt.
While Rada crime and corruption exist to a minimal degree, it is almost impossible to commit. Every time you think about betrayal or feel like betraying the Rada, other Rada can pick up on this. Even if they do not notice anything until you commit a bad deed, afterwards anyone looking at you at the moment works as a camera seeing you, each Rada's eye is like a transmitter to the Hivemind and thus you will be caught by a collective intelligence hunting you down as you speed down the street. Even Radafied animals while not providing much thought, give visual to the hivemind for Rada to look through and some creatures on Rada planets are nocturnal, making even crimes where there are no witnesses, incredibly hard to pull off. The fear of harsh punishments, coupled with this entirely different social world, makes it nigh impossible to commit most crimes or betrayals.
If a Rada wishes to commit Rada crimes, they usually need to Exile themselves from the Hivemind entirely to stand a chance, although that is a permanent decision to leave society as well, one not so easily made for most. Of course, this social madness continues to doing taboos, such as littering. If one Rada sees you litter, every Rada sees you litter, unless that Rada does not share the vision of you littering, but how could you tell if they did or not? Whilst the Police Rada are specifically trained and given permission to view others thoughts, not all Rada can do such a technique, and reading others minds without permission is strictly illegal otherwise. However, reporting crimes and taboos is not, so anyone wishing to disturb society or be lazy and endanger the environment or otherwise shirk responsibilities of a sense making, living Rada, it is foolhardy to do so in sight of pretty much anyone.
TABOOS/ILLEGAL!: In Rada society, reading another Rada's mind is illegal if not permitted verbally by the other Rada and even then it is only limited to the subjects agreed by the Rada being read, Rada can tell if another Rada is trying to do different and can try to stop it or call for help if it is being done regardless. Exceptions lie in the police and higher authority figures who can do so with due cause, but if are found doing so without due cause may well be punished.
Many other taboos and illegal subjects mirror human customs such as murder, killing, breaking of public or private property, assault, rape and other such things. However such things do not include underage drinking as Rada biology overpowers alcohol and its negative effects, thus many of such biological dangers that plague humans are no issue to the Rada and this goes to other biological problems humans face and have introduced to their laws as a result, do not exist in Rada laws.
ECONOMY/CURRENCIAL METHODS!: Rada Economy is largely regulated, in so that every Rada living in the system is obligated to enough currency to sustain themselves and are paid for their place in society, be it engineering, scientific pursuit, military, construction or other work made by the Rada government. Making up private businesses is allowed however all private companies are subject to scrutiny from the government and they are not allowed to hoard/disrupt the economy, as the Rada pride their freedom and logic. While the economy is largely regulated, those in higher positions do tend to have more resources and currency than others, everything based on performance and skill rather than relations or inheritance, which does not exist in Rada society. You earn what you are worth, and while parents can give their children money, they are less likely to do so as that could well make the child lazy, or get the wrong picture of what society is like.
