Duradite
Once a rare material only found on a select few worlds, Duradite is now used extensively across the Galactic Alliance
Properties
Material Characteristics
Duradite is a hard, rugged type of metal. It is highly impervious to heat based attacks, being able to resist to resist heat up to 5000 degrees Celsius before melting. Additionally, Duradite's physical breaking point is several times that of steel. Though usually instead of bending Duradite tends to crumble instead. Duradite is also incredibly dense, with a standard 'brick' weighing the same as 5 standard mortar bricks.
Geology & Geography
Duradite is a naturally occurring material on a select few planets in the Caldur sector, which planets it occurs on are kept highly secret, the miners living and working on the world for their entire lives. Naturally Occurring Duradite comes from unique volcanic activity that only happens once every 300 years, making it incredibly rare. This rarity is no problem for the Alliance however as Duradite is easy to synthesise from construction mass.
Life & Expiration
Duradite does not rust unlike most other metals. Since it's discovery before the galactic war there have been no instances of Duradite naturally 'breaking down'.
