Monday, April 5th, 765

The Investigator S.Q.U.A.D. wakes up at the fort and heads down to see Doloroes Farlight, to receive their pay for the last week. It takes them a few hours to get that paperwork done then head to Safe Co. Bank to get it cashed and receive their 10 gold.
After this the party heads to Bloom Wharf where they go to talk once again to Alya Harris the head of the conservationists, Stepinov Antonovich her worker, and Arlo Morris the head of the distributors. They ask them questions pertaining to Operation Rougarou and find that the conservationists generally dislike what's been going on around town. An exploding population means that a lot of the land is being reclaimed from nature. But the bigger issue is that the Low Magic Crystals seem to be having a negative effect on the land. Things are rotting at a quicker pace and smaller more sensitive creatures like amphibians seem to be suffering in population. The distributors however have a very different idea. To them simply more people is more deals and more money. Very few negatives from their perspective. After all, the questioning was done Arlo said to keep an eye out for the boy if they could and the party headed out.
From here they ate lunch at Pappa's Pizza again where they get one large pizza to share and continue to discuss the absurdity that is Veiyanitara Lero ability to not taste spice. Tatho Wildheart also rants about his childhood experience of getting half of half of a slice of pizza.
The party then heads towards Midtown where they meet with the Hemawitch, Dawn Calypse, the penultimate member of The Barbers. When she answers the door she is in an all-white gown with some blood smeared about and Brand immediately recognizes the smell of formaldehyde. Her apartment is very clean and sterile and doesn't have as many things lying about as the other members. She has one very neat bookcase filled with books and another with vials organized and labeled with what is obviously blood. And on her desk, she has some surgical devices. She and Brand have lengthy conversations about how historically they utilized bloodletting in the Shadowed Canyons where they are both from, but through research, she has shown that it is not the best course of action, and they then dig into the research why. Vei then spots a strange device on her desk and asks about it and she informs her that it is something she and Mr. Barton over at Horizon Seekers have been working on. It's a telescope with a shorter focal length so instead of looking at the stars you look down at the details of something. She shows the party how there are different parts of the blood and more or less one component can tell you about their health like more of the white bits means they are probably ill with something.
After spending all afternoon talking with her Brand asks if there is any way to go see The Surgeoness, as everyone research has been incredible and he would really like to see the last members. The Hemawitch says that she has been putting a lot of pressure on herself lately and that she has seemed distant. But so far she has just given The Surgeoness her space and as their friends, they will reach out whenever they need since she considers her a friend. The party decides to talk to Xavier to see if there is anything he can sway and begin to head out.
But as they do they hear loud knocking and people outside of another apartment and slowly walk there out of curiosity. In front of a door is two policemen and a man with papers knocking on the door. The Hemawitch then recognizes that it is Edna Tixiong's, The Surgeoness, residence. As the party approaches, they notice a foul smell and loud banging from within. The man then yells "Mam, you have not paid rent in a few months, and all of your neighbors have been complaining about the noise and smell, I am going to have to evict you". She yells back that he will get his money, and he must leave. He informs her back that she has said that the last three times, and that Officers Torlee and Silverstring are here to oversee the eviction, she has been given the legal notice and time, and should pack her bags. She screams back to leave. The man steps back and says "fine have it your way, officers". Then the two policemen get a large bludgeoning device and knock the doors off the hinges. Inside her place looks awful. There is blood and bodily fluids smeared on the walls, there are bits of body parts and carcasses laid about. The surgeoness then yells "I SAID NOT TO COME IN, MY RESEARCH IS NOT READY YET, NOBODY WOULD UNDERSTAND ALL THE WORK THAT HAS GONE INTO THIS." As she says that the scratches from upstairs get louder and louder and growls and snarls start to happen. That is until the door holding them back breaks and something begins running towards the party.
