Templars of the Ivory Labyrinth
The secret society known as the Templars of the Ivory Labyrinth are a subversive sect of Baphomet cultists. Masquerading their teachings in the guise of book clubs, academic societies, religious circles, and other regular organisations found in large settlements, Templars carry out long-term strategic infiltration in service of the Lord of the Labyrinths in order to corrupt the local population and facilitate demonic activity. Their activities are highly decentralised, resulting in each cell of Templars having their own particular hierarchy, system of identification, and operational goals. Membership tends to be passed down along entire families. However, unless in preparation for an Abyssal invasion or being subject to complete exposure, the Templars of the Ivory Labyrinth never openly reveal themselves, instead living generations in secret.
They are believed to be an ancient sect, though concrete evidence of their existence was recovered during the Grand Betrayal, an open coup attempted by the Templars after a number of Golden State Inquisitors discovered one of their Sanctums and subsequently imperilled their activities in Frankonia. The coup was thwarted and the local network dismantled, though they are assumed to have other cells around the world.
