The origins of the crazed gnome alchemist is mostly unknown. His deeds and fate is, however, legendary.

Adventurers Life

Shinecatcher came to Nova Aera with big ambitions of fame and fortune. He achieved one of these when Nova Aera was besieged by an army of cyclopes. Along with a party of fellow adventurers, one of which would be known as the Saviour of Nova Aera, he stopped the army's incursion through Undertown. After the great hero had stopped the army's first attack on the city, he joined the strike force that snuck around the army to snuff out its leaders. 
On their way through the jungles that provided cover for the party, Shinecatcher stumbled into some grippli-made traps. In a stroke of luck, Shinecatcher managed to escape with only the loss of an ear. They also happen upon an old obelisk that emanated dark power. A power that intrigued Shinecatcher. Yet the party decided to leave the obelisk, but Shinecatcher was not satisfied and as they left he tossed one of his bombs over his shoulder. This bomb not only hit the obelisk but managed to topple it all together. From the rubble emerged a powerful demon, a vrolikai. Through their combined efforts the party managed to survive until the demon grew tired of toying with the mortals and returned to the Abyss. The sheer amount of power that this demon possessed was beyond anything that Shinecatcher had ever seen, and it planted a seed in him. A desire for power that would guide him after his death. 
Shinecatchers life, like many adventurers before him, came to an abrupt end around the time of Yule the same year. On a quest to investigate a castle in the north Shinecatcher along with a group of his fellow adventurers, they uncovered a plot to take over the toymaking market. In a chaotic turn of events, that included Shinecatcher cutting off his own finger to make a lockpick, he eventually found himself locked inside the factory floor along with hundreds of hungry elves who are all looking at him as their new meal. With no means of escape, Shinecatcher takes his belt of bombs and lights all the fuses. He then runs towards the hoard of elves as the bombs detonate. The explosion ignites the flammable fumes from the large machines creating a massive explosion that decimated the entire workshop.

Into the Abyss

After his death, Shinecatcher found himself in the Boneyard, face to face with Pharasma. She saw the darkness and chaotic lust for power in the gnome and sentenced him to the Abyss. In the everchanging hellscape of the abyss, among immeasurable amounts of demons, Shinecatcher had his work cut out for him. He abandoned alchemy and turned to the arcane arts that now came naturally to him. As if the Abyss itself twisted his blood into something more demonic. Surprisingly enough he managed to rise among the ranks of the hoards of demons. Reveling in the chaotic madness of the Abyss he quickly rose to power. 
After a small trip to Nova Aera and a run-in with a few powerful mortals where he got the chance to test his strength and killing a powerful archmage, he returned to the abyss with an increased sense of pride and confidence. With his heart now set on expanding his power, he returned to his alchemical roots in search of a bomb powerful enough to trump any destructive spell in existence. When he found out about the demon lord Bol'anti, a demonic scientist with a massive workshop almost the size of an entire layer of the Abyss. Shinecatcher besieged the workshop with all of his might. After a chaotic battle, he finally managed to find the lord and slay him. Taking the mantle of demon lord for himself, increasing his power tremendously. 

Servants 

Although he isn't a fully-fledged god, he is like all demon lords powerful enough to gather followers among mortals. Despite this, there is no established church dedicated to Shinecatcher since he only got the title very recently. There are a few of Bol'anti's former followers that embraced his successor. 
Any follower of the Maker of the Last Boom embraces destruction and madness in the search for the ingredients that will allow their master to finish his work.
