Session 1: Goblins, Sharks and Vampires
General Summary
It all began in the Sleepy Bastards inn where several adventurers make their home. From there they take quests and find other adventurers to work with. This particular day the inn was unusually empty. Except for five regular guests sitting at two separate tables, only four adventurers were present. Thomas Torkenmad, the human cavalier of the Order of the Dragon, who was an imposing man clad in full plate armor. Jakkul, the tengu inquisitor, who was sitting by himself polishing his double-bladed sword with meticulous precision. Screek Greytooth, the ratfolk rogue, who nervously looked around and eyed the other adventurers. Lastly there was Sion, the faun hunter, who was grooming his large white tiger Sora.
The group decides to find some work within the city in the hopes of making some quick money. They find a quest to make a delivery from the elf Alfonso Brigandi to the horse trader Jon Jonson. They found the elf living upstairs and takes the small chest that they are supposed to deliver and leaves. When they arrive and hand over the chest, Screek sneaks over and curiously looks into the chest only to find it filled paintings of naked women. The group leaves.
They accepted another quest, this one to solve the mystery of a large number of goblin disappearances around Scraptown. After some investigation and interrogations, they find a track down into Undertown which is the underground district of Nova Aera. In an abandoned warehouse they found the missing goblins chained to what looked like school-benches with a blackboard in front of them. Behind them were the bodies of several goblins who seemed to have taken their own lives. Just then arrived the one responsible for the goblins disappearances. A Monadic Angel hellbent on teaching the goblins how to read. Even though they'd rather kill themselves. The party skips negotiations and attacks the crazed angel, killing him and freeing the goblins. Jakkul took the angel's morningstar as his own, whilst Thomas took his golden full plate armor. They also brought the blackboard back with them to the inn.
Not resting for long the party decides to take on another quest. They find a mission to deal with an infestation of sharks in Deeptown, the underwater district beneath the Nova Aera harbor. They are each gifted a magical ring that allows them to breathe underwater. They then venture into the waters beneath Nova Aera to meet with their employer Duke Tridenton, a gillman. The party found him at the tavern the Splashing Salmon. There the party is told about the duke's mansion which has been overrun by sharks. There the party dealt with the sharks with ease. In fact it was too easy. Suddenly the sharks scattered and a huge megalodon appeared. The beast almost killed Screek before the party managed to take it down. They collected their rewards and went back to the inn.
The party then decided to take on yet another quest before nightfall. They accept a quest to investigate threats sent to the dhampir horse-trader Jon Jonson. After meeting him they pointed to a port house. There they find it ransacked and destroyed, with a trail of blood leading towards the basement. In the basement, they find a vampire bleeding after a fight with a powerful creature. After admitting to sending the threats he asks the adventurers for help with dealing with an overzealous angel. The adventurers tell him about the angel's fate before killing the vampire and returning to Jon to collect their reward. The adventurers then return to the inn to revel in their success.
