Session 11: A Familiar Face

General Summary

After the "murder" of Madame Jeanne de la Brouhaha, the three figures escape the scene of the crime. Two of them in one direction and a third sneaking away from another.
From here two separate plots take place. The first involves Madame Jeanne trying to clean up the mess of her "death" as best as she can. However, this is halted by an investigation conducted by the Cobalt Inquisition. Who are trying to make sense of the happenings in Honeyport and find the man known as Marcus who claimed to be an agent of the Red Dragon. They interrogate the party for all they know and get a connection between Madame Jeanne and Marcus. However, since Madame Jeanne is supposedly dead, the only loose ends being the party itself and an overworked secretary at the Frankonian Embassy, this connection may run cold. Maybe.
On the other end, Jorg and Thylius were meeting up with their contractor who supposedly would give them an in with the Agents of the Watcher. They were supposed to meet up in the sewers below the southeastern parts of Freywharf. Well down there they came to a large funneling room where the mysterious Tengu was standing. But when they entered and approached him they realized that he was merely an illusion and the gate behind them was shut. Behind the gate was the real tengu, who now changed his shape to reveal himself as Johnny, who the party had come to call Johnny the Jobless. The young-looking tiefling cackled about how he was about to have disposed of three of them who destroyed his plans in Honeyport. Jorg and Thylius then revealed that he had not, since Madame Jeanne was in fact still alive and that they would get out of there. Johnny, who was flustered by these news assured them that they would not, before leaving.
Loud booming footsteps echoed in the funneling room where Jorg and Thylius were trapped. Meanwhile, giant swarms of spiders appeared around them. Then entered a large three-legged monster. An Otygh that lived in the sewers of the city. After a smart fight on the behalf of Jorg and Thylius, who managed to open up one of the gates to create a chokepoint for their enemy, they began to dismember the Otygh and take trophies. They then explored further into the sewers. There they met a weird blind woman who apparently had a relationship with the Otygh. Eventually, they escaped and returned to the rest. They then went back to The Greedy Minstrel to talk about this contact he had set them up with. They were later able to meet some genuine members of the group, but because of Johnnys infiltration they could not risk any new recruits at this time.
Meanwhile, Vexna has managed to find out that Helga and Olga are about to leave and has offered the party to join them on their hunt. Since the group is now focused on getting to Oakenhold in order to find clues on the Red Velvet Clan before making their way over to Belham in the Dragonfen, they decide to join them and are now planning to leave the capital behind.
