The Brass Emissary
Irène is the Grand Dynarch of the illustrious Garderique dynasty. She is the longest-ruling leader of any of the current Seven Families, being appointed Dynarch at the age of 102 after Calixte Monet, her mother, died prematurely in a hunting accident. As house head, Irène has advocated her family's interests through diplomacy, soft power, and long schemes, such as securing important positions in government and ensuring that outstanding businesses are eventually inherited by the dynasty. Consequently, Irène's tenure has made the Garderiques the largest employer in Frankonia proper, which has increasingly put them at odds with the Dandales and Merandures. However, she has so far managed to keep those conflicts in the bargaining phase by hosting innumerable banquets and fairs, and by constantly keeping the other Families preoccupied with "diplomatic visits" from Garderique envoys. She is known as the "Brass Emissary" due to her methods and distinctive set of armour.
