Granny Gertrude Grinkledinkle is a night hag that travels between the material and astral plane, the feywild and abbadon. All in the search of ingredients for her creations, sweets that affect the dreams of people. Dreams just so happen to be how Gertrude sustains herself and has for untold millennia.

Appearance

In her natural form, Gertrude appears as a horribly thin, dark-skinned crone with black downward curved horns. While somewhat human in appearance, her face makes her outsider heritage obvious as her mouth boasts sharpened fangs easily capable of tearing into flesh. She stands at five and a half feet in height, and 160 pounds in weight. However, she usually takes the form of a friendly old human woman.

Personality

Gertrude is a fickle and deceitful being, that would do anything to further her own agenda. She mostly keeps to her self in her small cabin which is suspended on two pairs of goat legs. Upon meeting her one would believe her to be a friendly old human women, but the her kind and giving facade is merely a way to lure in potential clients and servants. When she doesn't feel like preying on these uninvited she instead shows her real visage, a horrifying last sight for many. To face a night hag with murderous intent is one of the worst fates imaginable. Granny Gertrude would never offer her prey a slow death, but rather use them for her wicked magical experiments. Feeding on their nightmares until they succumb to their own misery.

Abilities

Like any other night hag, Granny Gertrude is an outsider with the ability to traverse planes with a specific interest in the dreams of mortal beings. In order to feed upon those dreams, she uses her mystical weird magic to bake sugary treats that on the surface appear to give the recipient pleasant dreams, but will in reality grant Granny Gertrude influence of the person's subconscious, allowing her to later torture the victim's psyche. She uses unknowing and power-hungry individuals to distribute her condiments in exchange for a taste of her mystical powers, effectively making them warlock servants to her bidding. 
Apart from her dream manipulation she also has a lot of weird and inexplicable magical trinkets on her at all times, as well as shelf loads in her walking, goat-legged cabin. To face a hag in her own abode is a terrifying thing and Granny Gertrude is no exception. Her favorite tactic is to disorient her opponents with different gases and shadowy mists, then hexing them from the shadows as she slips in and out of the material plane. Although she is a powerful magic user, she herself has very little in terms of physical might.

History

Granny Gertrude Grinkledinkle is an ancient fey creature of unknown origins. All that is known is that she traversers different planes, and much like most night hags she often retreated to the depths of Abaddon. This is by no means her home, Gertrude lives in her goat-legged cabin, which travels around along with her, traversing planes on a whim as she seeks her favorite target for torment. The dreams of mortals. Tormenting and twisting the dreams of mortals into horrid nightmares and frightening terrors is something she feeds upon. To maximize her ability to infiltrate these dreams she needed a way to fester her magics in these mortals. Thus she started to disguise herself and sell pastries, which were propped with weird hag magic that gave Gertrude control over the subconscious of her victims. 
To do this more effectively, Gertrude decided to enlist power-hungry and ambitious individuals to distribute these pastries and desserts for her. She did this by offering these people a fraction of her ancient magical power. These warlocks are often meticulously chosen, sometimes before they are even born. She then forms circumstances so that these individuals will seek her out and makes them susceptible to her manipulation.
