Abzu
The Platinum Flame
Abzu, who is also known in some parts of the world as Bahamut, is the god of wisdom, justice, and divine order. The radiant soul of draconic nobility and the guiding light of righteous law. Born of Behemoth’s breath in the earliest days of creation, Abzu emerged as the first great dragon of reason and restraint. He is revered as a judge among gods, a beacon to mortals, and the eternal counterweight to his sister, Tiamat. Though distant and rarely seen, his presence is felt in every just ruling and every law that seeks to bring peace from chaos..
Appearance
Abzu is depicted as a massive, platinum-scaled dragon whose wings shimmer with a cascade of stars. His eyes are pools of molten silver, reflecting the truth of all things. Past, present, and potential. His horns curve back like a crown of light, and his breath is said to heal the innocent and burn away lies. He walks rarely, preferring the solitude on peak of Mount Celestia, where he coils around the Pillar of Law, a radiant monument said to hum with the first language ever spoken. In times past, when he wished to wander the mortal world, he usually took the appearance of an old human dressed in peasant robes.Dogma
Abzu teaches that justice must be tempered by wisdom, and that power must serve the greater good, not the self. His followers are charged with the protection of the weak, the defense of truth, and the upholding of fair law. Abzu does not demand perfection, but he despises willful cruelty, tyranny, and deception. To act with mercy is not weakness, but clarity. To protect without reason is not loyalty, but blindness. The Platinum Flame does not burn to destroy, it burns to cleanse. By draconic standards, Abzu is neither vain nor desirous of treasure. He values wisdom, knowledge, prophecies, and songs instead. However, he also pursues viciously (usually sending his champions and followers) those who tries to steal the hoard from his temples as, after all, he is a god of justice. Worshipers The majority of Abzu's worshipers are mostly metallic dragons. While he was revered by all good dragons, gold, silver, and brass dragons held him in particularly high regard. Followers of Abzu often takes quests to oppose the schemes of Tiamat and to stop or destroy her followers.Worship
Abzu’s faithful include judges, paladins, metallic dragons, and scholars of law. His temples are grand but serene, built from white stone and silvered glass, often on high ground or mountain peaks to mirror his heavenly perch. His priests wear robes of ivory and steel, and serve as arbiters in both worldly disputes and spiritual conflicts. The sacred text of his faith is known as The Concordant Flame, a collection of sermons, rulings, and visions penned by the dragon-saints of Aurix said to have walked beside him during the start of Age of Dragons. Followers recite portions of the text during trials, meditations, and moments of moral uncertainty. His holy day is The Day of Reckoning, held during the high summer on the day he descended to face his sister one final time, when oaths are sworn, debts are settled, and old grievances laid to rest through ritual judgment and public reconciliation. His worship also grew during the Age of Dragons in the lands conquered by the draconic empire, as non-dragons began to take interest in his teachings.Relationships
Abzu’s most enduring relationship is with his sister and eternal foe, Tiamat. Where she spreads domination and chaos, Abzu stands for restraint and balance. Their war nearly destroyed the world several times, and their divine truce following their bout in the dawn of the Age of Dragons now binds them to their realms, hers in the Nine Hells, his atop Mount Celestia. Each watching the other for the first sign of betrayal. Abzu honors Behemoth, from whose breath he was born, and finds kinship with Anwhe, whose structured justice mirrors his own. Yet he remains wary of zealotry and absolute control, believing law must always serve justice, not the other way around.
