Old Father Snake
For most, the title of "god-king" is a lie, a falsehood to appease the masses. However, for the immortal, multi-headed monstrosity that rules the Yuan-ti Empire, this title seems apt. The Twin Worlds have already seen that Old Father Snake is beyond death.
Divine Domains
First and foremost, Old Father Snake is a god of ambition. Thus, the domains he encompasses are as varied as the methods one can employ for their own advancement.
Most of his clerics choose the Order domain, with an emphasis on its powers of domination. Others choose the Trickery domain that they might use its powers to silently remove their rivals. A rare few select the Death domain, using the bodies of sacrifices to fuel their power.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
The holy sigil for Old Father Snake is the same as the seal for the Yuan-ti Empire. This reflects his own appearance, depicting a six-headed serpent with its mouths open, displaying six pairs of wicked fangs.
Tenets of Faith
The tenants of Old Father Snake's worship are something of a paradox. It emphasizes humbling oneself before those above their station and working to advance oneself at any cost. This contradiction makes little sense to those who aren't yuan-ti.
Old Father Snake also demands frequent sacrifices. The most frequent things sacrificed include wealth and sentient beings. This leads to the whispered rumors of the brutal, torturous rituals of the snake-folk. Unlike most such wild tales, these are all too true.
Physical Description
Body Features
The god-king of the yuan-ti is an extremely imposing figure. He somewhat resembles a yuan-ti of the Scripture Caste with his mostly serpentine form. The pattern of his scales is a deep brown with a black diamond pattern going all the way down to his tail.
There are two main, very terrifying differences in his appearance. The first is that he is far larger, standing over fifteen feet tall from his torso. The second is his six serpentine heads, their fangs constantly dripping venom.
Special abilities
Old Father Snake is an entirely unique being in the Twin Worlds. No one is entirely sure of his nature, and unfortunately his isolation makes conventional study an impossibility. Since this is unlikely to ever change, scholars are forced to simply speculate.
He is believed to be at least partially divine due to his ability to grant power to his clerics. It is unknown if this is simply part of his nature, or if it is due to the fanatical devotion of an entire species of zealous followers and their brainwashed slaves.
He is also known to have died on at least one occasion, although apocryphal accounts suggest this might have occurred more than once. The method of his return is just as mysterious as any other part if his nature. Whether this is divine immortality or a process involving a vessel similar to a lich's phylactery is unknown

Personal history
The background of Old Father Snake is very mysterious, even to his own people. Only one account exists and this seems closer to myth than fact. Due to the dangers involved in investigating, most scholars are more than happy to accept this version, if not wholly.
According to this legend, the god-king was once as mortal as any other being. He was born on a far distant world in a form deemed to be lesser by his kin. He was disgusted by this due to his clear superiority, and so he took many like-minded yuan-ti and left to another world.
This was when he used a power denied him to ascend to a greater form. His body grew and changed until he was a vision of perfection. His new shape would inspire awe in the hearts of all yuan-ti and strike terror in the hearts of all lesser beings.
Then he sought to bring his view of "enlightenment" to the beings that he found in this new world. These first people were humans that were immediately enslaved. They were put to work on the city of Ssasserass. When it was complete, he made his home there and never left.
This does not mean the god-king slipped into idleness. He takes a very active role in the efforts of his empire to conquer the rest of Hr'ask'r. From his palace he plots and schemes, all the while basking in the adoration of his loyal subjects and watching in amusement as they destroy each other just to earn his favor.
There are few specific incidents of note in the life of Old Father Snake. One of the few known concerns an incursion from the Abyss. The demon lord Graz'zt tried to enslave the mind of the yuan-ti god-king and use him as a puppet that he might rule his domain instead.
Fortunately, this plot came to the attention of the archmage Ratagar of Rall. He conjured two fellow archmages, Eldain Mal'atre and Vord Ink-Heart to disrupt the plot. They successfully infiltrated Ssasserass and handily killed both Graz'zt and Old Father Snake. This event marks the formation of The Arcane Trinity.
Of course, truly killing a being with any amount of divinity is not so simple, and Old Father Snake lives on.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Old Father Snake is entirely self-centered. He cares only about his own wealth, power, and prosperity. As such, he means to expand his empire until it encompasses nothing short of the entirety of the Twin Worlds. Perhaps not even the bounds of the Twin Worlds could contain his ambition.
His egocentric nature makes him an especially dangerous despot. To him, even the most powerful and deadly of his servants is nothing more than an expendable pawn. This means that no plot is too dangerous, and no atrocity is too great.
