V.V.G.A. Primer

This well-made but clearly mass-produced tome is bound in alchemically-treated leather, with the pages showing the clear and blocky script that comes from a printing press. It contains several alchemist formulae, all of which are considered to be the essentials to be learned by guild alchemists. The first few pages feature a charter of rules and expectations, price list for the most common potions on the market, and suggested lists of alchemical equipment the possessor of this book will need. The inside of the back cover is stamped "Property of the Vial Vitae Guild of Alchemists."

The guild makes some effort towards ensuring that copies of the primer don't get out into general circulation, and some copies have been passing through the hands of guild members for years, and so tend to be somewhat damaged. Any individual copy that isn't brand new has a 5% chance to be missing each extract formula, rolled individually.

Every formula given in the book is something that can be made into a regular potion as well as an alchemist's extract.
