A strip of cloth several metres long, usually woven from windfisher silk. The blindfold is wrapped around the eyes and head several times, providing protection from the elements. The cloth does not obscure the vision appreciably, is light enough one can forget they're wearing it, and provides a degree of protection from the glaring sun in addition to its other benefits.

While wearing a sandsilk blindfold, you treat areas of bright light as dim light, and when attempting to Strike a creature that is concealed due to inclement weather, such as a sandstorm or heavy rain, reduce the flat check to succeed by 2.

You can pull a strip of silk down over your mouth and nose as an Interact action, and so long as your hand is occupied doing so, you gain a +1 item bonus to Fortitude saves against inhaled hazards. You can release the silk as a Free action.

Clan Colours

When buying a sandsilk blindfold, it is best to get undyed silk. The various clans and tribes of Muspel kholo tend to dye their silks in specific colours and patterns to denote things like family, role, and a wide variety of other things, and it would be wise not to send an incorrect social signal when wearing sandsilk.
