Report - Grain of Salt

General Summary

When Cohort Theta-2 arrived on Ba'kal, they spent some time gathering information about the potential threats on the planet, scouring the marketplaces and then taking to the streets to ask the community questions. Finally, having gotten nowhere with the recalcitrant populace, Kirex asked the Stormshell's law enforcement. SLE Sergeant knew precisely where the gunrunners were holed up, but they were nearly untouchable because of local corruption, and they had more pressing concerns. Kirex agreed to handle the gunrunners and look into the other issues. The SLE Sergeant agreed to gather some volunteers to assist them.

The Cohort sent Kkatano, So'trassa, and Kullona to the warehouse backed by a squad of five SLE officers and were able to handle the entire situation mostly diplomatically. Unfortunately, an unknown voice spoke out of a speaker and delivered a dark message before the warehouse imploded in a massive explosion that destroyed the building and hurt everyone.

Kirex, Khaijit, and Gaalos went to retrieve their comrades after they had not returned. Tracking the comms, the three found the injured away team in the medical center and examined them. Gaalos started investigating immediately, calculating what manner of weapon could have done this, who might be behind such a weapon.

Gaalos determined, though he doubted his conclusions, that it would take a weaponized micro-singularity. None of the Great Civilizations would have been able to resist flaunting such a dangerous weapon if any had it, he theorized, and so it couldn't be them. The Lesser Civilizations would have used it to gain the Greater status, or even the Imperium. Couldn't be them. But doubt set in. Gaalos needs witness statements, or further investigation. Kirex orders their comrades delivered to the ship and they set off. Kirex gets more information as she can about the situations facing them, Khaijit and Gaalos uncover dirt on the governor of Stormshell, City-Governor Tiszar.

On the second day on Ba'kal the Cohort dealt with three issues: Government Corruption, Illegal Salt Mining, Water Shortage.
