Personal history

Tosh’Rand was born beneath an open sky, his first breaths filled with the scent of wild grass and rain-soaked earth. He became a warrior of great renown, swift as the wind and deadly with a spear, his hooves thundering across the plains like a coming storm.   But Tosh’Rand’s heart, once filled with the pride of his people, grew bitter and cold on the day the humans came. A small kingdom on the edge of the plains sought to expand its reach, offering gifts and treaties at first, promising peace and trade. But their words were hollow as dry leaves, and their hands held more than scrolls—they held chains. In the dead of night, the betrayal struck. Human mercenaries, funded by the kingdom, raided the encampment, their steel gleaming under torchlight. Centaur warriors fell, but not before cutting down many of their treacherous foes.   Tosh’Rand fought until his arms were slick with blood, but he could not save them all. The humans took the young, the weak, the wounded, binding them in iron and dragging them away. His own brother, barely of age, was among them. The next morning, the survivors found only trampled grass and the scent of despair. Tosh’Rand chased their trail for weeks, but by the time he reached the human city, the captives had been sold off, scattered to the winds.   From that day forward, Tosh’Rand vowed that no human would ever earn his trust again. He sees their promises as lies, their diplomacy as a mask for greed. He still carries the broken spear of his fallen chieftain, a reminder of the price his people paid for believing in human words. Though he remains a warrior of the plains, fighting to protect his kin, his heart is a storm of rage and sorrow, waiting for the day he can settle the debt.
