Skeletal Hulk

The air grows deathly still as an immense shadow looms over the crumbling battlefield. A creature of pure bone, stitched together by dark sorcery, rises from the earth with a sound like grinding stones. Its empty eye sockets seem to bore into you, as if recognizing the living as intruders in a world of the dead. Then, with a sudden, terrifying lurch, the Skeletal Hulk charges forward, each thunderous step shaking loose the dust of ancient wars long forgotten.

Basic Information

Ecology and Habitats

Skeletal Hulks are most often found in ancient battlefields, cursed graveyards, and necromantic strongholds, where the remains of massive warriors or monstrous creatures have been reanimated by foul magic. These towering bone constructs can also lurk in the depths of ruined fortresses, standing as eternal guardians over long-forgotten tombs or arcane vaults. Some wander the ashen plains of once-great kingdoms, their presence a lingering testament to wars that should have ended long ago.

Behaviour

Unlike mindless skeletons, Skeletal Hulks display a grim sense of purpose, their massive forms moving with unnatural precision. They do not attack out of hunger or rage but rather as relentless sentinels, bound to destroy all who trespass upon their domain. Some have enough fragmented memory left from life to wield weapons with surprising efficiency, mimicking the battle stances they once knew. Though incapable of speech, some have been observed grinding their jaws together or emitting a hollow, bone-rattling groan, as if straining against the silence of undeath.
