Leukodaemon
A foul stench clings to the air, thick and suffocating. The shadows twist unnaturally, coalescing into the form of a gaunt, skeletal figure with pallid, rotting flesh stretched over its bones. Hollow eyes glow with a sickly light, and a rasping breath carries whispers of suffering. The Leukodaemon extends a clawed hand, its voice dripping with cruel amusement. "A little cough… a small fever… soon, your body will crumble, and your soul will join the wailing chorus of the diseased dead."
Basic Information
Ecology and Habitats
Leukodaemons, harbingers of plague and pestilence, are most commonly found in disease-ravaged lands, lurking in the ruins of abandoned villages, festering swamps, and mass graves. They thrive in places where sickness has decimated entire populations, drawn to the lingering suffering like carrion birds to a corpse. In the lower planes, they dwell within the blighted wastes, where they serve as emissaries of contagion, spreading vile afflictions in service to their dark masters.
Behaviour
Leukodaemons are patient and insidious, preferring to spread sickness rather than engage in direct combat. They infect water supplies, poison food stores, and whisper cursed blessings upon those who pray for healing, ensuring that disease festers unchecked. When forced into battle, they exude clouds of noxious miasma, weakening foes before striking with their diseased claws and necrotic magic. They take a perverse joy in watching mortals succumb to illness, delighting in the slow, inevitable decay of the living.
