Cat Sith
A shadow moves in the mist, its emerald eyes glinting like jewels in the dark. The Cat Sith steps into view, its fur black as midnight except for a single white patch on its chest, shaped like a crescent moon. It sits and watches, tail swishing with a hypnotic rhythm, as if weighing your worth. A soft purring fills the air, blending with the rustle of leaves, but there is no warmth in the sound. As the legends say, to meet the gaze of a Cat Sith is to invite a test of wit, respect, and fate. Will it guide you to hidden treasures, or will you find yourself lost forever in the twilight of its domain? Only time—and the Cat Sith’s mercurial nature—will tell.
Basic Information
Ecology and Habitats
The Cat Sith is most commonly found in the deep, enchanted forests and fog-shrouded moors of the Feywild or areas closely attuned to it in the mortal realm. These elusive creatures favor places steeped in mystery and magic, such as ancient ruins, fairy circles, or abandoned cottages reclaimed by nature. They often dwell near sources of ley line energy, which they seem to draw upon for sustenance and power. In the mortal world, they can occasionally be found prowling the outskirts of quiet villages, their glowing eyes visible in the dark of night.
Behaviour
The Cat Sith is a highly intelligent creature. While it often appears aloof, it is deeply curious and enjoys observing mortals from the shadows. They are notorious for playing pranks—sometimes harmless, sometimes cruel—on those who cross their paths. Despite their mischievous nature, the Cat Sith is fiercely protective of its territory and the Feywild, often punishing intruders who show disrespect. It has an eerie connection to death, sometimes appearing at the bedside of the dying or at funerals, leading to legends that it can steal souls. However, this is more folklore than fact; the Cat Sith does not feast on souls but may be drawn to the powerful magic surrounding a passing life.
