Skrullian Empire
The Skrullian Empire was once the largest and most powerful political body in the known universe, controlling territory across two galaxies and thousands of star systems.
It lasted approximately 10 million years before gradually falling to a series of military defeats, natural disasters, and civil wars in the 2nd century CE.
The empire was so closely tied to Skrullian identity that the commonly accepted end of the empire in 1969 is disputed, as many believe that as long as skrulls exist and retain their cultural and religious identity, the Empire continues. Nonetheless, no major intergalactic powers recognise the Skrull Empire as a current political body, and if the current rennaissance of Skrullian wealth and population resulted in a new pan-species government, it would not be recognised as contiguous with the previous Empire by anyone except the Skrull.

The Empire had a national religion, however due to the unusual nature of the Skrull religion, religious plurality was permitted, and in some cases, even encouraged.
Foreign Relations
The Skrullian Empire fought repeated wars against the Kree Empire, the last of which, usually referred to just as the Kree-Skrull War, lasted 60,000 years, and spanned multiple galaxies.
In the mid 1700s, they also fought an extended war against the Nova Empire , although this ended with a peace treaty which was observed by both sides, and the governments of the two empires did not display long term animosity.
