Harvard University

Harvard University is a private Ivy League university based in Massachusetts. It was founded in 1636, originally as a seminary, and is the oldest university in the United States.

Harvard has three main campuses, one in Cambridge, one in the Allston area of Boston, and a medical campus on Longwood Avenue, Boston. The Harvard Library is the largest academic library in the world, consisting of 79 individual libraries, holding approximately 20 million books.
