Conchapoppin Carciform
It is unknown whether the ancestors of the Conchapoppin Carciform evolved in the datasphere or the material world, but they have developed a form that straddles both. Making their home in disused computer systems, their presence slowly shapes and redefines those systems to create their home. This doesn't appear to be something that individual Carciforms set out to do, but rather a natural effect that occurs when several of them gather together somewhere over a period of time. Carciforms draw sustenance from the data in the computer systems they call home, which provides all of the sustenance they seem to need.
Their carapaces are slate grey, with whorls and speckles of iridescent blue, and are formed of a thick metal-infused chitin that provides them with ample protection. An adult specimen is half a metre in length from tail to claw tip, Eight spindly legs sit just behind the head, with a long slender abdomen and tail extending out behind them. They can move quite fast and climb most surfaces with ease, and can effortlessly enter and exit computer systems, with their body discorporating and re-incorporating as part of the process.
They are very protective of their homes, and will drive off other creatures in the immediate vicinity but otherwise not aggressive. Individually, they are not particularly intelligent, but groups of them can develop a kind of hive mind that can potentially be conversed with.
Conchapoppin Carciform
This slate-grey crustacean is roughly half a metre in length from tail to claw tip, its body supported by eight spindly legs. It has a thick slate grey exoskeletion with whorls of iridescent blue and two large formidible pincers.
