Abstergo

Abstergo Entertainment, Information, & Science market sector   Abstergo balances between three corporate pillars; accessible education, interactive entertainment, and high-tech electronics. All three branches of the company are deeply intertwined. While Abstergo does sell Communications and Computers of TL 12 or lower, their principal platform for their software is the Neural Comm and Wafer Jack (Any Tech Level). Abstergo even offers a 5% discount for Neural Comms and Wafer Jacks purchased together.   Abstergo sells skill training software for Cr((Skill level to be achieved * 100) + 100). This software can be run while the customer sleeps, but not while suspended animation from a low berth or cyber berth. Each uninterrupted night that a character uses these skill training softwares in their sleep grants an additional 1/3 of a day of progress. This means that skill training can be completed in 6 weeks instead of 8. Once skill training software has been used, the data stick it comes on becomes corrupted and must be wiped or disposed of.   Abstergo is conducting research on how to make training softwares more efficient, and will exchange unwiped training software data sticks in exchange for half off one of their interactive neural comm & wafer jack games, which are normally Cr32. These games can be played consciously or in a character’s sleep and typically last about a week. Games can be purchased in any genre, have difficulty ratings between 8 and 14, and have 6 levels. The genre is determined by selecting 6 skills. The levels are formed by randomly determining 3 of the selected skills. In order to beat a level in a play session, requires 2 hours of conscious or six hours of unconscious play, and the character must beat the difficulty rating of the game for each of the three skills. Beating a level awards the character points equal to the difficulty of the game, their highest roll for that level, and the lowest roll for that level. Failing to beat a level has 2 points subtracted from their score.   Once completed, the game is no longer interactive and can only be re-watched like a holovid. While a few people may hold onto these holovids, most will turn them in to Abstergo for raffle drawings to earn prizes. While these prizes are often very modest at about Cr5, some can be quite substantial. Each point grants one raffle ticket for every 50 points rounded down. Roll a D66 for each ticket and consult the table.
