The Church of the Icons

The movement called the Church of the Icons is both old an new, resting on the teachings of ancient cults, but founded in the modern age and preaching the modern ways of the faith. In its current, official form, the Church is the youngest faction.
The Church emerged in Icon City on Mira. They are strongly influenced by the teachings of the Circle of Seekers, but the Church has collected, canonized, and institutionalized the wide sprawling beliefs and folklore about the Icons from across all the Horizon.
The key difference between the Church's doctrine and the Iconic folklore if that the Church denies the duality of the Icons' temperaments and vengefulness. Instead, the Church preaches that evil exists within humans themselves and is released when the Darkness between the Stars enters someone's life.


The Church is headed by a ruling matriarch and patriarch, assisted by an assemble of clergy. The Church is based on nine sacred rites:

• The blessing
• The fast
• The confession
• The pilgrimage
• The giving of alms
• The prayer
