Peter Errol Hill (a.k.a. Stone)

Peter Hill is the owner and operator of The Grail Club. He started life as a music reporter for a Los Angeles-based music magazine, but was dismayed the new, cutting edge, creative rock bands and folk acts were being sidelined by mainstream record labels and venues. He created the Holy Grail in 1965 to give these new rock bands that he loved a place to play and perform and be heard. His love of good music turned into a highly successful, highly profitable business.
Peter Hill's nickname is Stone, short for Philosopher's Stone, because every act he touches turn to gold. Hill has an uncanny, unerring ability to identify the next big musical superstar. More than thirty acts have gone onto fame and fortune after playing at The Grail Club , some of the biggest names in the music business. These acts range from jazz and blues artists to heavy metal rockers, and include musicians in every genre in between. More than one groundbreaking, classic act owes their start to Peter Hill.

Peter Hill has a big bushy beard, also reminiscent of a lumberjack.  His eyes are small, but sharp.  He wears glasses to read and do computer work.  He has a bit of rosacea, so at any given time, he may have red splotches on his skin.

Peter Hill has a very uncanny knack for spotting the "next big thing."  He has consistently promoted bands at his club, The Grail Club, who have gone on to be superstars.  It is unknown whether this ability is a natural magical ability (perhaps the Sight) or simply an instinct identifying the right musicians for the right moment.

Apparel & Accessories

If you passed him on the street, you might mistake Peter Hill for a construction worker.  Most of the time, he wears baggy jeans with a belt and a big, baggy shirt. In summer, this shirt is one of The Grail Club's t-shirts; in winter, the Grail t-shirt is covered with a flannel shirt or a hooded sweatshirt, also big and baggy. He often wears work boots. At the Grail, he's often mistaken for a technician or a roadie. When he dresses up at the club, he'll wear a plain black suit without a tie, or a button-down shirt and slightly nicer jeans.
No matter his outfit, Peter Hill always wears a necklace of wooden beads, from which a plain gold ring is suspended. Many people believe that necklace, or the pendant ring, is his Focus.
