Nothius

Lord Nothius

Nothius was the infamous devil lord that stole Lady Yael centuries ago, triggering the series of events that would lead to the Charge of the Hellriders.
While Nothius is a well-known figure in the modern stories told about the Charge of the Hellriders, he is a fictitiou, having been added to the story centuries after its events for narrative purposes.

Legend of Nothius

At some point between the 9th and 10th centuries, Nothius, disguised as human lord, made his way to Elturel. While there, Nothius enslaved the heart and soul of Lady Yael, the lover of High Rider Olanthius. When Nothius heard Olanthius was returning, he fled with Lady Yael in tow. Olanthius and his Riders, upon learning of Lady Yael's abduction, pursued the devil.
After a lengthy chase, the Riders confronted Nothius. The battle ended when Nothius revealed his true form and escaped through a portal to the the Nine Hells with Yael. Without hesitation, Olanthius and the Riders.
The soldiers pursued Nothius through Avernus, until the devil lord sought refuge with one of the famed legions of hell. Undeterred, the Riders charged, defeating one of the infamous legions and slaying Nothius, freeing Lady Yael.
