Githzerai

Githzerai are a humanoid race that predominately dwells in Limbo, the plane of pure chaos.
They are one of the two splinter factions of the original gith race, a species that had been enslaved by illithids for centuries. Upon their freedom, and the disappearance of their savior Gith, githzerai adopted a philosophy of seclusion, self-enhancement, and introspection, in contrast to their militaristic githyanki bretheren. The resulting schism resulted in a conflict that lasts to this day, a conflict that is only briefly halted when the two sides hunt down the mindflayers that enslaved their people.
