Sloop

The Sloop was a ship designed for the warm waters of the islands in the middle of the world. The low draft of the ship meant it did well in the shallow waters near the islands but it was large enough to also cross the sea. To add to that it was nimble enough to pick it's way through the rocks that were everywhere in the area. It filled this role for many years until a brash pirate saw its possibilities on the harsh and unrelenting storm coast. Atsuka Verast commissioned a sloop that was larger almost twice the size of the previous models and that doubled the armament as well. She sailed it home the Storm Coast and started a crime spree that was as unique as the ship. The merchants in their galleons and caravels had no idea how to evade this new threat and its popularity among pirates soared. Since then the sailors have adapted by using faster boats and hiring smaller warships to guard them but the sloop still remains a fixture.

Catapults and Ballistae were common weapons on these ships though most of the time they would try to set up for a boarding action. Magic users were also pretty common on ships as well. Each ship could also have other upgrades such as a battering ram added to it for an additional cost.

The Sloops main defense was its speed and maneuverability, allowing it to stay out of dangerous ships way and to place itself in the best position to attack.
