Xenamanex, Master of the Balance

The enigmatic god Xenamanex is one of the most controversial and difficult to interrupt gods. Xenamanex is the god of balance, and is known for creating the Law of Two, which separates each for into the universe into two opposites, and strives to maintain an equal balance between the two. The Law of Two is what separates Good from Evil, Order from Chaos, and Light from Dark. Xenamanex is depicted as manifesting all of these traits. It has a distinctly genderless non-humanoid form, seeming to be a mass of writhing energies coalescing into a large mask with an X in the middle. The X divides the mask into four quadrants that represent Law, Chaos, Good, and Evil in turn. The few who have heard the voice of Xenamanex report that it sounds like dozens of different voices all speaking at once.   Xenamanex has one of the smallest followings of any god, but it is at the same time one of the most diverse. Xenamanex does not discriminate between race or alignment. The only requirement is that one must seek to uphold the balance of the universe. A follower of Xenamanex might become a powerful champion fighting back against an army of undead that threaten to overwhelm the living, but a different follower might be perfectly willing massacre an entire village of people in order to allow for the rest of the kingdom to survive a famine. A follower would be unlikely to allow a criminal organization so large that it disrupts trade on a major scale, but they would be perfectly fine with assisting a number of smaller organizations takes root in a city that was deemed too lawful. Followers of Xenamanex even come into conflict with each other on occasion, which to them is viewed as simply another part of maintaining the balance within their own church.  Given that the balance between all forces is the only thing that matters to Xenamanex and its followers, most people's opinion of their church varies widely depending on the time and the place. Some see them as saviors fighting to hold back evil, while some see them as radicals interfering where they shouldn't. The perspective depends entirely on what segment of the church the individuals have interacted with.
