Laneia, The Temptress

Laneia is a master of temptation and the goddess of seduction and desire. She is known as the the first succubus, the queen of excess, and one of the most paranoid being in existence. Laneia lives in constant fear that someone will attempt to usurp her, and thus places strong enchantments on her followers. Her true form is unknown, as she appears to each individual as their own deepest desire.
Laneia embodies the corruptive nature of the Pantheon of the Fallen more than any other. She encourages all of mortal kind to give in to their basest desires and to fulfill them far past the point of excess. Her minions organize feasts, procure exotic goods, create powerfully addictive drugs, and do whatever they can to feed into the desires of others. Slowly over time she works on getting people to spend more and more of their time feeding their own desires, to the detriment of their responsibilities and everything around them. When they are fully in her grasp she binds them in a powerful enchantment, securing their loyalty permanently, a ensuring they can never return from their deepest lows. Laneia feeds off their excess, taking more and more from them until their reminds are reduced to simple things, only able to comprehend their own desires, and always looking for more.
Of all the gods in the Pantheon of the Fallen Laneia has the most willing followers, as the idea of living life for the sole purposes of fulfilling your desires is appealing. Her reputation is also far better than most evil gods, as those who are less informed generally think of her as less of an evil, corrupting presence, and more an irresponsible goddess that encourages people to live meaningless lives in search of pleasure. Though regardless of whether her followers are brought to her willingly or not, she places powerful enchantments that heavily restrict what they are able to do. This comes from a combination of the goddess being incredibly paranoid about her own followers either abandoning or betraying her, as well the fact that her personal desire is for control, and she deeply enjoys having absolute control over others. he church largely serves as and introduction to the hedonistic lifestyle she supports. They hold secret feasts and parties, with a host of different layers that grow more depraved the deeper in one gets. Only when one is invited to the most secretive of these parties are they invited to join the church of Laneia, where they become one of her puppets.

The Divine Symbol of Laneia is a smiling mask that one would wear to a masquerade party. While initially these masks seem quite normal, over time a true symbol of Laneia will warp itself, becoming a twisted grin that looks nearly insane.
