Khaal, The Wild Flame

Khaal is the god of fire and the deity who originally breathed life into the world. Khaal is the master of the wild beasts of the world and made them to reflect the wild nature of fire. Khaal rules the Plane of Fire and takes the form of a large, powerful cat with a flaming mane. As master of the hunt, Khaal is know to travel throughout the planes hunting down great beasts, and, on occasion, even other gods.   Khaal's domains rule over the world outside of civilization. His followers consist mainly of various primitive tribes and the occasional enlightened animal. Khaal does not have many rules for his followers. They are expected to live wild lives, away from the comforts of civilization. They are expected to grow strong and hunt, but not kill needlessly or over hunt to the point of harming the natural world. Khaal generally adopts an outlook of survival of the fittest, and expects his followers to provide for themselves, but how they do so is up to them to decide, as Khaal sees strict morality as an overly limiting concept.   Khaal is known to place guardians over certain spots in nature. These guardians take the form of normal animals, but are granted increased strength and control over fire. They can be identified by their bright red coloration. Reaction to these guardians varies from place to place. Some see these locations as holy sites, to be worshipped and not to be disturbed. Some see the guardians as a test, and many are willing to pay a great some of money for the red pelts. The answer seems to lie somewhere in between, as fighting the guardians does not seem to displease Khaal, but harming the locations they guard will earn his disfavor.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Followers of Khaal do not have a specific symbol, but instead they harvest come kind of trophy from whatever their most impressive kill. This trophy is then carved with runes that detail the story of the battle, and is replaced as more impressive trophies are acquired.

Tenets of Faith

Khaal's followers are forbidden from living in cities, and instead should live more connected to the wilds. They are expected to hunt and gather their food, as farming and domesticating animals is seen as defiling the wildness that nature is supposed to embody.
