Easara, the Nurturing Light

Easara is the goddess of light, mother to all plant-life, and the creator of the World Tree that raises the land up above the clouds. While Khaal was the one to provide the spark to initially begin life on the world, Easara provides the energy needed to sustain life, and that remains her goal to this day. Easara is a goddess who watches over life as a whole, and works to ensure that it can continue. She is commonly depicted as a beautiful women draped in a bright white robe with two wings of shining light coming from her back. Various flowers and vines grow around her clothing, and it is said that plants bloom all around whenever she is near.   Easara is the goddess that works to ensure the preservation of life as a whole. She operates on a grand scale, working to preserve large forests and entire populations of people. Specific individuals are of less concern, and although murder and killing is frowned upon by her, it takes an act of true genocide to spur Easara into more direct intervention. Easara generally operates on a "save what you can" and a "for the greater good" policy. This is evident in her actions following the Great Sundering, where the World Tree was used to save part of the population, though many were left down below to fend for themselves. All forms of life are relatively equal in value to Easara. As long as both populations are stable, a tree is seen as just as deserving of life as a sentient mortal. All these traits lead to some feeling that Easara is a rather harsh goddess, but it is generally understood that she is dedicated to ensuring that life as a whole can continue.   Easara is not overly concerned with what her followers do, but she does look favorably on those who try to protect nature and all forms of life. She encourages solving issues through diplomacy, and living in peace with the world around you. Her church similarly works to help foster a balance between cities and the nature that surrounds them, and at time behaves very similarly to druidic orders.   Due to her role in raising up The Lands Above with the World Tree, Easara is the most widely venerated of all the Full Deities. Most of her most fervent worshippers are elves and gnomes due to her connection to nature and the Fey, but almost everyone who lives on the surface acknowledges Easara and sends up an occasional prayer. Those who have to live below the Sea of Clouds, have much more mixed opinions of Easara. Some hope that they will eventually be saved and be able to live on the surface, while others see her as having abandoned them.
