Centaur
Centaurs are proud, nomadic beings with the upper body of a humanoid and the lower body of a powerful horse. Deeply tied to the natural world, Centaurs roam vast plains, ancient forests, and highland valleys in tightly bonded herds. Their culture values freedom, tradition, and harmony with the land, viewing themselves as guardians of the wild.
Centaurs stand tall—often over seven feet from hoof to crown—with strong, muscular builds and a commanding presence. Their human-like torsos blend seamlessly into their equine halves, which range in coloration and pattern from sleek chestnuts and dappled grays to rich blacks and creamy whites. Hair and mane styles are often braided or adorned with beads, feathers, or charms that reflect their lineage and personal achievements.
Though their size makes them formidable in battle, Centaurs are not brutes. They are wise, philosophical, and spiritual, with deep oral traditions and reverence for celestial bodies, ancestral spirits, and natural phenomena. Many Centaurs serve as sages, hunters, scouts, and warriors of the wild. Their shamans and seers often read the stars or speak with the land to guide their people.
Centaurs live communally, often moving with the seasons. Their camps and settlements are semi-permanent, designed to leave little trace on the earth. They distrust cities and enclosed spaces, preferring open skies and rolling terrain. Individual Centaurs may travel to learn from other cultures, but most eventually return to their herds with new knowledge to share.
Despite their bulk, Centaurs are swift and surprisingly graceful, capable of running down prey or fleeing danger with equal ease. They are cautious of those who attempt to dominate nature or disrespect their lands, and they respond to threats with the force of a stampede.
To encounter a Centaur is to face a creature of freedom, wisdom, and wild strength—unshackled by walls, guided by stars, and bound to no master but the earth beneath their hooves.
