The Laws of Ulrick

Given to Abramoses in 19000 BSC,  The Laws of Ulrick are 3 clay tablets detailing how to live and how not to live according to the God's of the Triad.  The Tablet's are atributed to Ulrick because, according to myth, his voice rang out when they were brought down from the heavens in a beam of light.    The first tablet lays out 6 rules and punishments like so:
  • Thou shall not kill unless thou prepares to die
  • Thou shall not steal unless thou prepares to lose a hand
  • Thou shall not rape unless thou prepares to be gelded
  • Thou shall not lie unless thou prepares to be mute
  • Thou shall not spy unless thou prepares to be blind
  • Thou shall not worship other Gods unless thou prepares to suffer forever
The Second tablet lays out 6 things one should do to live a more Holy life.
  • Thou shall be peaceful
  • Thou shall be generous
  • Thou shall be merciful
  • Thou shall be chaste
  • Thou shall be patient
  • Thou Shall be Humble
The third Tablet lays out 6 promises from the Gods for following the listed behavior
  • You shall grow and multiply
  • You shall live long
  • You shall know peace
  • You shall be protected
  • You shall be guided
  • You shall join the God's in heaven.

Historical Details

History

Found by Abramoses and passed down through his family until given to the Arn Emporer as a gift. Sat in the halls of Arnia's temple until it was destroyed and lost in a flood.

Legacy

The Laws of Ulrick shaped the laws of civilazition itself, first influencing the Arn Imperium and later all of Verdonia. The line "Thou shall not kill unless thou is prepared to be killed" was originally contreversal, but it is the religous justification for warfare as long as soldiers are "Prepared to be killed".
