The Faith of the Triad
The predominant religon of The StormClaw Empire, The Faith of the Triad is centered around worship of the triad. 3 Gods who are believed to have created everything and are etternally battling hellish forces of evil. The 3 gods are Tyron, the leader, God of Justice, genorosity and leadership. Toltanos, the god of the Sun, agriculture and fertility. Ulrick, the god of storms, war, and monumentality. The faith of the triad serves as a major component in all aspects of the StormClaw Empire.
Mythology & Lore
It is said that in the begining there was only chaos, everchurning elemental planes of Fire, Water, Air and Earth. Until the Triad apeared in the upper plane of Heaven, they used their strength and wisdom to combine the elements into a single plane, the material plane. At the same time as the Gods apeared so did the infernals of the Hells, who hated life and goodness and saught destruction of the Gods. The Triad started an eternal war with the hells and created legions of Angels and other Celestials to combat the infernals. In one story it is said that the God Toltanos was battling a legion of devils but was being overwhelmed by the darkness so he created the sun to light the world. It is also said that Tyron fell in love with an angel and had 2 daughters, Corranna and Dorissa, It is said that this is how love was created. However Tyron's angel wife was killed by a Devil assassin. Instead of letting his rage get the better of him Tyron gave the devil a fair trial. It is said that one of the Triad's creations, (Many argue whether it was a human, elf, dwarf, or hobbit) turned on the Gods, and Ulrick started the practice of sentencing evil people to the hells.
Divine Origins
According to myth the Triad first revealed themselves to a lowly shephard in the times before the Arn Imperium. His name was Abramoses and he began to spread the good word of the Triad and became known as the first true disciple of the Triad.
Cosmological Views
According to the Faith, Heaven is the plane above the Material Realm, and is home to the Gods and all their angels, and Hell is the layer below, divided into 9 layers and filled with conflict between devils and demons. In the faith of the Triad when you die you meet Tyron’s daughters, Corrana, and Dorissa, Corrana will take the pure souls to Heaven to live with gods while Dorissa will sentence them to hell
Priesthood
To become a Priest of the Triad one must give up all tiltles, relaitonships and property and join a monsestary. There they will be trained and choose a specific God of the Triad to dedicate themself too. Once deemed worthy by the Priest of the monestary the newly made priest will be given holy robes, the title of Brother/Sister and be sent to a church. Priests are well respected in communities and often given food and housing by the town or village. Priests of Tyron are often sought after in trials of Law, and are known for their dedication to fair play. Priests of Toltanos are often sought out to bless crops, they also help deliver babies and nurse the dying, Priests of Toltanos hold great reverence to the sun. Priests of Ulrick are known for being the most devout and spend the most time in silent prayer, they are sought out to bless warriors and construction, as well as oversee the funeral rights. While each priest can preform any holy task specific priests are often sought out for expertiese.
