History

House Karker originated on the Karkoni Peninsula, where the first humans arrived thousands of years ago, finding the land already occupied by the fae and encircled by kingdoms of merfolk and ocean dwellers. According to legend, the house was founded when Bree Karker fell in love with a noble from the sea, forming a powerful alliance that granted them control over mythical sea creatures. With these forces, they conquered the peninsula and reigned as Coast Kings for millennia, subjugating the fae and ruling the coast with an iron grip. However, over time, the magic of the sea began to fade, weakening their hold on the region until the Stormclaws arrived. During the conquest, the last Coast King was slain, and the fae were liberated. Yet, House Karker survived; the youngest daughter of the fallen king was made the High Lady of the Karkoni Coast, allowing them to retain influence. Now, they continue to harbor their sea-bound traditions, holding onto power while quietly defying imperial bans on their ancient practices.
