World One

World One stands as one of the last semblances of organisation on the Still Earth and fiercely dedicated to the reconstruction of civilization by any means necessary.

Structure

World One is led by a council of individuals deemed to be the most efficient and qualified to lead the nation, positions on the council are highly competed for and even the slightest indication of being unfit to lead can result in expulsion from the council.   Alongside the council is a highly advanced semi-autonomous computer adviser that assists members of the council in their duties and offers precise calculations and logical solutions when requested.

Public Agenda

The objective of World One is to restore civilization to the world by any means necessary, they are committed to not only restoration but also complete unification of the human race.

Assets

Almost all knowledge and technology of the World-Before has fallen into the hands of World One, allowing it to become highly advanced and utilize various different technologies such as genetic modification, cybernetic enhancement and cloning. Using these technologies they have created a huge surplus of clones that serve as both an expendable workforce and security force, this massive force is also backed by a smaller number of highly trained and qualified human specialists who are often cybernetically  or genetically enhanced.

History

After the stilling of the Earth, the world was thrown into chaos, massive shifts in the climate and the oceans sparked waves of migration to the newly forming super-continent on the Earth's equator. Overcrowding and ethical and religious tensions sparked decades of strife and wars, widespread famine and epidemics broke out causing further death and destruction. Furthermore the lingering effects of the Phenomenon continued to prey upon the feral human race.   World One innocently started as an attempt to remodel the idea of the former United Nations, at the time being named as the Emergency Authority Initiative. The EAI almost completely collapsed shortly after it's formation due to massive problems with dealing with overpopulation and tensions between peoples and attempts to resolve the issues in a just and ethical way always seemed to result in failure.   Though it took decades, it eventually became apparent that the old notions of human rights and the former laws of the World-Before were obsolete and new and drastic measures had to be taken. The organisation became cold and calculating discarding any moral idea of right and wrong and undertaking unspeakably cruel but undeniably effective measures to preserve resources and protect social order.    The measures taken varied depending on which problems plagued the settlements, some were simply made to ration. Others had to undergo forced re-education or relocation. And in some places even harsher measures were taken such as the expelling or culling of excess population that could not be housed or fed, or forced human experimentation in order to cure a rapidly spreading disease.    After the implementation of these new radical steps and laws to restore civilization, the Emergency Authority Initiative was reborn and now sort not to remake the World-Before but instead to make the World One.
