The "Drift" event

A strange being from space known as the "Drift" arrived on a small skyland near Kankos called Fairburn Skyland. It began "awakening" the animals of the skyland, and seemed to want to feast on their very essence. It is unclear exactly what it was or why it came, but it was defeated by a band of adventurers only a couple of weeks after its arrival.
