The Great Sea Skyland
Geography
The Skyland measures roughly 1400 miles at its widest point. Though the sea located in the center is not massive, measuring only about 600 miles at its widest, it is referred to as a sea due to the fact that it is in fact a true saltwater body. The rest of the skyland is covered in sand and patches of sandy dirt, which sprouts tropical flora.
Fauna & Flora
Palm trees and tall-stemmed, wide-leafed greenery makes up most of the flora found. Mushrooms and poisonous berries can be found in the deeper jungle areas, where the dirt is more fertile. These areas are thickly grown with many plants and tall grasses, as well as thicker trees, similar to Palms.
Inhabiting these jungle areas are many different kinds of creatures. The two most prominent on the food chain are the large black-furred cats called Jagirra, and the tricky and deft-fingered Monkey Goblins.
Though nobody knows for sure where the water that fills the basin known as the Great Sea comes from, there are many theories and rumors which speculate. The most popular is a story which tells of one of Namma's Titans, a great serpent which sits at the bottom and weeps perpetually for the world that was lost. Many believe that once his grief runs out the basin will dry and the serpent will rise again to defend the Free Peoples against any foe.
There are two major settlements located here: Madrigal, Capital of the Federation of Free Peoples, and Rumhaven, a smaller fishing town across the Sea. There are many smaller settlements scattered throughout, though none significant enough to put on any formal maps (generally at the request of the people.)
Many different creatures call the Great Sea Skyland their home. Colorful birds and insects flutter through the air, from palm tree to palm tree. Monkey Goblins inhabit the deeper sections of jungle, often inhabiting treehouses built high up in the trees, to avoid the large dark-furred felines which prowl between the bushes on the ground.
